I am finally finished!
I thought the beginning of L’Escargot was really promising.  It was refreshing to see a family portrayed so realistically — the Kwan family lived very meagerly and it showed in their apartment, clothing, makeup, etc.
But then it became sooooo hard to watch.  I feel like the writers wanted to fit in as many misfortunes as possible.  Constant drama does not equal good entertainment.  I seriously felt so tired after watching an episode.
I definitely will not rewatch this.  (I wonder why I even tried so hard to finish it.)

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

She is soooo annoying.

Ummm….girl, you were the one who sought him out first.

Man-wah (MW): Your relationship with my husband…  I’m sure we all know what is going on.  I came here today to clear things up with you.  Why are you bothering my husband?  Is it because of money?  How much do you want?  Just tell me.

Ka-lok (KL): No, Mrs. Ko, it’s not because of money.  I hope you’ll believe me when I say that I’m not the kind of girl who chases after wealth.

MW: Then is it your career?  I can also help you if you want to rise up in the ranks, but you have to immediately leave the company.

KL: It’s not because of that either.  I don’t have any wild ideas about my career.  I don’t want fame and wealth.  I’m happy as long as I do my best.

MW: Well, if it’s not for money, not for your career, then why are you pestering my husband?

KL: Actually, he’s the one pestering me!  I’ve never bothered him, he’s the one bothering me!  He’s the one looking for me each time.  I’ve told him many times that I don’t want it to be like this, but he doesn’t listen!  I’ve wanted to end this relationship for a long time.  Trust me!  But each time he looks for me, I don’t know why I can’t find ways to refuse him.  Mrs. Ko, trust me!

*slap*

MW: Disgraceful!  You have no sense of shame, no sense of self-respect.  You know that he is a married man; if you wanted to cut ties with him, there is no way that you couldn’t do it.  Who do you think you are?  You are a mistress — a woman who cannot hold her head up.  This slap is to wake you up.  You have youth, beauty, intelligence; you dare say that you don’t know why you are someone’s mistress?  You know what?  You are cheaper than an escort!  At least they know they do it for the money.  And you say you don’t know the reason why you are wrecking a home?  How stupid!  Listen up…  If you have any self-respect left, never see my husband again.

KL: *ugly cries*

PREACH!

I nearly screen capped the entire scene.  Ka-lok has been making me so angry with this whole thing, being so immature and irresponsible.  She said she slept with Ko Wang-Jim simply to repay her debt to him.  STUPID.  She continually accepted gifts, gestures, friendship, and more from KWJ with the knowledge that he is pursuing her.  SO STUPID.  She kept claiming that she isn’t a gold digger and that she had no feelings for him, but never tells him straight up to leave her alone.  MAJORLY STUPID!

She isn’t a child!  I’m sure if she persisted that he left her alone and take precautions (quit her job, move away, change her number, etc), then KWJ would not have had all these chances to get close to her.  Some of you might be thinking, “But she did tell him to leave her alone!”  Sure, she did, but she would go right back to him or let him do some nice thing for her right after.

So she’s trying to clear herself of all responsibility in front of the man’s wife because she claims KWJ was the one who kept bothering her and she had wanted to break all things off, but didn’t know how.  PUHLEASE!

What a stupid girl!

Ever had an ex or almost-something-or-another accidentally call you?

I hope you haven’t because it’s a terrible feeling.

For someone who claims that she isn’t a gold digger, she sure got happy when she saw the necklace!

Hehe guilty conscience.

Well, I don’t know!  How about the HOSPITAL?!
But of course the writers had to make it so they end up at a hotel.

Gee, that’s the most perfect timing ever.

At the end of the day, Ka-lok is still a little girl — so 天真.

Did I miss something?  I don’t believe Ko Wang Jim ever asked for anything in return for his help.

I don’t understand how Ka-lok’s mind works.

This is what happens when lazy people get too many chances.  爛泥扶唔上壁.

Thanks for the really bad advice!

Faithful TVB fans know that hiding something like that bring the worst consequences.  Then again, without these consequences, there would be no drama.
